Social work since 1931

From one idea to lasting help

What started in 1931 as a single Advent bazaar has grown into a network of practical, on-the-ground support – from a care home for the elderly to a bicultural school.

  • 1931

The first Advent bazaar, inspired by the appeal “Who will help me to help others?” (Rev. Dr. Carl Kindermann, 1930).

  • 1935

A care home for the elderly is founded.

  • 1974

A German-Greek contact and information centre opens.

  • 1979

The “Athener Schule” opens, offering bicultural education.

  • 2006

The “Haus Koroneos” care home for the elderly is established.
